This lecture will discuss how a group of young and unconventional physicists in the 1960s and 1970s kept questions about Bell’s theorem, entanglement, and the meaning of quantum mechanics alive when much of the profession regarded them as unfashionable, and how that work helped lead to today’s quantum information science and modern Bell tests.
